Uelzena has a record 2019

Turnover of €705 million generated in 2019 is the highest reported by Germany’s Uelzena Group since its foundation. The increase in raw milk delivery of 21% corresponded to an additional raw material quantity of 112 million kg. The total delivery was 638 million kg. Uelzena Group was almost completely supplied by the dairy farmers of the member co-operatives within a radius of 150 km around its plant locations.

This increase in volume was due to the inclusion of new milk producers in the member co-operatives and corresponds to the largest processing volume in the company’s history to date. The payment performance of Uelzena 2019 was €0.3379/kg, higher than in 2018.

The value is also above the German average. The Uelzena Group’s modernisation and expansion programme has led to the implementation of further investments at all locations. The value of the balance sheet total was above that of previous years. In figures, a total of just under €224 million was reported, which corresponds to an increase of around €14 million compared to 2018.

Sales development in all product groups was largely positive. All main groups recorded increases and, with a total volume of a good 243,900 tons, were almost 12,800 tons above the previous year’s sales. The largest increases were in the area of milk powder and milk fats, but also in the area of special products. Construction work at one Uelzena location with the milk powder and evaporator system was completed. The investments not only contribute to productive and resource-saving production, but also to dust reduction, noise protection and to reduce emissions. Both investments together had a volume of almost €15 million. At three other locations, modernisations and investments were also made in order to make a positive contribution to the energy balance, the company says.
